New Zealand's largest concrete pour in a single day.

Advanced Concrete Pumping was a part of the team that delivered the largest single day concrete pour in New Zealand. 2,746 cubic metres of concrete pumped in one continuous pour, using five batching plants and five Advanced Concrete Pumping boom pumps over a 16-hour period.

Around 550 separate concrete truck deliveries were required from five batch plants in Whangarei and Ruakaka, using a fleet of 60 trucks. At any one time there were 15 to 20 trucks on the refinery site, with a truck delivery to the concrete pour approximately every 90 seconds.

The concrete base was for the refinery's new CCR unit. Partners included Allied, Firth, Atlas, Golden Bay Cement, Winstones, Marsden Industrial Solutions, Stan Semenoff Sand Supplies, Opus Engineering and Sika.

The logistics of a project of this size and complexity required excellent planning and communication between all parties. Advanced Concrete Pumping are proud to have executed this project with precision, whilst supporting United Civil and partners in managing one of the most complex and high-volume pours that New Zealand has seen.
