We are proud to contribute to infrastructure that creates a better network for kiwis, whist also supporting economic growth. Advanced Concrete Pumping was contracted by HEB Construction and Fulton Hogan to provide the concrete pumping for the construction of the long awaited 535 metre bridge over the Wēiti River, part of the Penlink project connecting SH1 to the Whangaparāoa Peninsula.

This work involved placing one of the four large pylon piles for the bridge foundations. Each pile is three metres wide and 48 metres deep, requiring around 360 cubic metres of concrete and 70 tonnes of reinforcing steel. These are among the largest marine piles in New Zealand.

Working in a tidal inlet created challenges around access, logistics and maintaining a continuous pour. Our planning, fleet capacity and experienced operators ensured the concrete was delivered without interruption, keeping the integrity of the pile intact.

The Wēiti River Bridge is scheduled for completion in 2028 and will become a key link for the region.
